Singer Joy Palfery gathers a prestigious choir of ex Oxbridge choral scholars – “The English Singers” – to give the world premiere of Zoë’s piece for double choir and oboe, “Oh Fire of Comforting Spirit” as part of full choral evensong, including music by Byrd.

Celebrated tenor Mark Padmore and pianist Richard Pierson are to perform Zoë’s song cycle “In the Park” as part of this year’s Endellion Festival in Cornwall.

Clarinettist/composer Mark Simpson is joined by pianist Richard Uttley for a full-length recital including the two Sonatas by Brahms, alongside works by Sir James MacMillan, Mark-Anthony Turnage, Jay Capperauld, Zoë Martlew, Gavin Higgins and Mark Simpson himself. 

Celebrated cellist Timothy Gill and pianist Sophia Rahman will be giving the UK premiere of the revised version of Zoë’s “Ondine” as part of this year’s Endellion Festival in Cornwall.

Internationally acclaimed composer/clarinettist Mark Simpson and composer/pianist Richard Uttley will be performing Zoë’s new firecracker work for clarinet and piano “Pyrrhos” as part of their recital at this year’s Edinburgh Festival.

This concert is part of the Fifth International Conference on Women’s Work in Music curated by Dr. Rhiannon Mathias. It aims to both celebrate the achievements of women musicians, and to critically explore and discuss the changing contexts of women’s work in music on the international stage.

Cellist Danushka Edirisinghe will perform Zoë’s solo cello piece “Salat Babilya” (“Babylonian Prayer”) as part of this concert to raise aid and awareness for the Palestinian crisis.

For this one-night-only event, Martlew is joined by an extraordinary line-up of internationally renowned soloists – close friends and long-time collaborators – in a joyous, unrepeatable meeting of artistry, humour and heart. Together they journey through vast worlds of sound and story: from ecstatic, interstellar realms to aching tenderness; from irreverent cabaret and blazing virtuosity to radiant quietude.
